About Metal Crafts
Why does the final product look different from the artwork?
Common reasons include lines that are too thin, fonts that are too small for metal engraving, or artwork that has not been converted into a metal-production drawing (no clear raised, recessed, or color-filled areas).
What are the most common mold-making mistakes?
Typical mistakes include reversed text, missing letters, incorrect raised or recessed areas, distorted proportions, and uneven engraving depth, all of which affect the final product.
Why do thick metal products often have burrs?
Thick products are usually made by zinc alloy die-casting. Burrs naturally occur after casting and must be removed through polishing and edge trimming.
Why does uneven plating or base metal exposure occur?
This is usually caused by improper hanging angles, complex structures with dead corners, insufficient plating time, or poor surface preparation.
Why does antique plating vary from batch to batch?
Antique plating is a manual aging process. Variations in oxidation time and polishing intensity make it impossible to achieve 100% consistency.
Why does soft enamel bubble?
Incorrect curing temperature, moisture or oil on the base metal, or unstable enamel quality can cause bubbling.
Why does color difference occur?
Color differences usually result from not using Pantone colors, different enamel batches, or inconsistent manual color mixing.
Why does hard enamel look uneven?
Insufficient grinding and polishing or improper metal height design can result in an uneven surface.
Why do magnets or pin backs fall off?
Holes that are too thin, insufficient reinforcement, or poor structural design can cause breakage.
Why do hanging holes or joints break easily?
Incorrect adhesive, unpolished surfaces, or packaging before full curing can cause accessories to detach.
Why do accessories rust?
Rust occurs when regular iron parts are used, anti-rust treatment is missing, or products are exposed to humid shipping conditions.
What are the common issues with different materials?
| Material | Common Issues |
| Zinc Alloy | Burrs, air holes (porosity), requires polishing |
| Copper | High cost, heavy weight |
| Iron | Prone to rusting |
| Stainless Iron | Limited options for electroplating |
| Aluminum | Cannot be electroplated; can only be oxidized (anodized) or spray-coated |
Why is recessed sandblasting recommended for products with large polished areas?
Large polished surfaces have a higher risk of bubbling during plating. To reduce scrap rates and material loss, recessed sandblasting is the industry-preferred solution.
What type of magnet is used on the back of fridge magnets?
Fridge magnets can use either soft or strong magnets. Soft magnets are ideal for lightweight designs, while embedded strong magnets are recommended for heavier metal products, depending on the application.
Why does antique silver sometimes look different from batch to batch?
Antique silver is a vintage finish, and slight batch variations are normal. For repeat orders, we can achieve about 90%–95% color similarity, but not 100% identical.
Can imitation enamel be blackened?
Imitation enamel is color-filled before plating, so blackening is not possible. For a black finish, only black nickel plating can be used.
Fabric
About Fabric Crafts
Why does the embroidery look different from the artwork?
Embroidery is created with threads, so fine lines, gradients, and very small text in flat artwork cannot be fully replicated. Designs must be adapted for embroidery.
Why do embroidered lines look thicker than in the artwork?
Embroidery threads have physical thickness, and overlapping stitches make lines appear thicker, especially in small designs.
Why are small text or details unclear?
Text that is too small or details that are too fine fall below the minimum stitch size, causing merging or loss of clarity.
Why does the embroidery surface look uneven?
Uneven stitch density, unstable fabric tension, or soft materials can cause an uneven embroidery surface.
Why do thread breaks or skipped stitches occur?
Improper thread tension, worn needles, or overly complex stitch paths can cause thread breaks or skipped stitches.
Why is there color variation in embroidery?
Different thread batches, lighting conditions, and screen color variations can cause color differences.
Why does 3D embroidery look flat?
Insufficient foam thickness, small design areas, or low stitch density can reduce the 3D effect.
Why do 3D embroidery edges look rough?
Overly complex edges or imprecise foam trimming can result in rough edges.
Why does the cap not hold its shape?
Soft buckram materials or lack of reinforcement, especially in washed caps, can cause poor structure.
Why does the hat deform after embroidery?
High stitch density or embroidery on overly soft fabrics can cause deformation.
Why does the hat feel uncomfortable to wear?
Poor fit, small head circumference, or stiff sweatband materials can cause discomfort.
Why does the cap color differ from the sample?
Different fabric batches and dyeing processes can cause slight color variation.
Why does embroidery not stand out on dark fabric?
Low color contrast or lack of underlay stitches reduces visibility on dark fabrics.
Why does embroidery fuzz after washing?
Lower-quality thread or improper washing methods (machine wash, hot water) can cause fuzzing.
Why does the hat shrink or deform after washing?
High cotton content or non-wash-resistant buckram materials can cause shrinkage or deformation.
Why is the embroidery placement inconsistent?
Manual positioning may cause slight deviations, which are within industry tolerance.
Why does embroidery vary slightly within the same batch?
Multiple machines and operators can result in minor variations within a batch.
Logistics
About Shipping Crafts
What shipping methods do you offer?
We offer express courier (DHL / FedEx / UPS), air freight, and sea freight, depending on delivery time, order volume, and budget.
Why do shipping costs vary so much between methods?
Shipping costs depend on transit time, chargeable weight, routes, fuel surcharges, and peak season factors. Faster delivery generally costs more.
Why is shipping charged by volumetric weight?
International shipping charges are based on the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight, especially for bulky but lightweight packages.
Why does sample shipping cost seem high?
Samples are shipped in small quantities, usually by express courier, making the per-unit shipping cost relatively high.
Is the delivery time guaranteed?
Transit times are estimates and may be affected by flights, weather, customs clearance, or peak seasons, and are not 100% guaranteed.
Why do shipping delays happen?
Delays may occur due to flight changes, port congestion, customs inspections, holidays, or force majeure events.
How are the products packaged?
Products are usually packed individually in OPP bags or inner packaging, then placed into cartons with cushioning when necessary.
Can you ship using my own forwarder?
Yes. If you have a nominated forwarder, we can deliver the goods to your designated warehouse or address. Domestic handling costs are charged based on actual expenses, while international shipping is handled by your forwarder.
Does DHL ship at any time during the day?
DHL has fixed daily pickup and departure schedules based on flight arrangements. Shipments are not dispatched at any time, but we will arrange the earliest suitable departure for you.
Does urgent shipping change the cargo type?
“Urgent” only refers to delivery time. As long as the product is not classified as sensitive cargo, it will still be shipped as general cargo.
Can you guarantee an exact delivery date?
Transit times are estimates. While most shipments arrive as scheduled, factors such as flights, customs clearance, or local delivery may affect timing. We recommend allowing buffer time.
What happens if the delivery address is incorrect?
Incomplete or mismatched address details may cause delivery delays or customs issues. Please ensure the address is accurate before shipment.
Is DDP available for all orders?
DDP availability depends on the destination country, product type, and quantity. We will advise the most suitable option based on your order.
How will the product description appear on the invoice?
We use standard, generic product descriptions on invoices to minimize customs clearance risks.
When is a Certificate of Origin required?
Some countries may require a Certificate of Origin for customs clearance. Please inform us in advance if needed.
Can products with special symbols or themes be shipped directly?
For products involving religious, law enforcement, or special symbols, we recommend confirming regulations in advance to ensure smooth shipping and clearance.
